Alleged Orange County Heroin, Crack Dealer Busted After Warrant Search

A Town of Deerpark man in Orange County was nabbed following the execution of two "no-knock" warrants following a several-months-long investigation into illegal sales of heroin and crack cocaine.

Peter Alvarez, 37, was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell after heroin and cocaine were seized during the raids, police said.

According to Port Jervis Police Chief William J. Worden, the search warrants were carried out at 25 West Main St., in Port Jervis and at Alvarez’s home at 29 Bolton Basin Road in Sparrowbush, by the Port Jervis and Town of Deerpark police, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office special operations group, state police and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force. 

Worden said Alvarez, who is facing additional charges, was also charged with an unrelated assault arrest warrant out of Port Jervis City Court.

Alvarez is currently being held without bail pending an appearance in Port Jervis City Court.
